STS-Med Small scale thermal solar district units for Mediterranean communities
The project Small scale thermal solar district units for Mediterranean communities - STS-Med aims to promote and spread small and medium scale Multigenerative Solar Systems, based on Concentrating Solar Technologies (CS), in the Mediterranean Basin, in order to satisfy the needs, in terms of heating, cooling, electricity production, water purification, production of fuels, etc., of small communities.
The project undertakes also to foster the growth of local districts and production chains in the solar energy sector, creating new qualified jobs on CS systems production & installation and enabling SMEs to set up a full supply chain in this field.
Moreover, in order to reach this latter goal the project includes a Work Package where a training program will be developed, aimed to transfer know how on CS Systems to train planners, installation engineering, professional and postgraduate and junior students.
To this end The STS Med e-learning platform provides a virtual learning space on CS systems available to the participants to the training program where different type of learning resources (documents, ppt. presentations, videos and photos on plants implementation and running, toolboxes for the design and performances analysis of plants etc.) can be found.
